DoTM: - Kiwirok AIrstrip WAJK
This month we are headed to a small airport in Indonesia. The airstrip is called Kiwirok Airstrip and uses the ICAO of WAJK.
It has a paved runway that sits at a elevation of 5,470 feet. There is a small village along side the runway. That's about it, nothing to exciting about this airstrip except that the runway is curved. That's right, it is curved. And sits on the side of a mountain. So, good luck.
HDoTM: - Centrale Hydraulique de Takamaka LFO1 (LFOR1)
This month's helicopter flight takes us over Reunion Island. We will be flying out to Takamaka 2 Hydroelectric Dam, also known as the Swallows Dam. The main power transfer station for the dam is located up from the dam on the side of the mountain. This is where to helipad is located.
